Hi all I've recently had 2 of these flying insects in the house 1 in the bathroom and one in the hallway. I tried picking it up but it's back end curled round and looked like it was going to sting me. I haven't got a clue what it could be can anybody help me please really want to know what this unusual insect is.

It's an ichneumon wasp - these all are parasitic on other arthropods, mainly other insects. They do not have a true stinger, but species like this one may have a short, sharp ovipositor (what they lay eggs with) that can pierce human skin (feels like a pin-prick). Harmless.
