This is a 2007 shot and appears to be a pretty rare visitor as I have not seen it often. Wondering which this can be. It was about 1" long.
Reddish insect with branched antennae
This is a male crane fly (family Tipulidae); it appears to be Pselliophora laeta, reportedly a relatively common species. See http://www.indianaturewatch.net/displayimage.php?id=71321 for an image and http://www.indianaturewatch.net/displayimage.php?id=65314 for an image of a female, which has more 'normal' antennae.
