Amaryllis plant

I put my Amaryllis outside this summer and it bloomed in September. I have brought it inside because the weather is getting too cool to leave it out. The leaves are green and brown. I don't know what to do with this plant. Is it going to go dormant? How do I care for this plant. I got it last fall to have to bloom over the holidays, but it never bloomed then.

A lot of plants take their cue from the changes in day length and nighttime temperatures. Your Amaryllis is doing just that. It will go dormant for the winter; when that happens, stop watering. Leave it in a cool spot someplace where you won't forget about it and then, when it starts to show signs of life late this winter, water and find the sunniest window in your house. The first sprouts to appear are usually the bloom stalks, followed by leaves. They naturally bloom in the spring.
