Please help with Identification small white mite like bug

Kingston, Canada

Hello,

I tried to get as best picture as I could with a small microscope and camera. These bugs were found on dead plant material. My best measurement puts them at about 0.1mm. White to the eye. Spikes on body. The closest thing I could identify is a bulb mite.
I hope the pictures are helpful.

Thank you in advance

I snapped a couple of better pictures this morning, and finalized sizes better as well.
I am thinking the bugs are 0.5mm.

Pretty sure that these are not bud mites; they may be scavengers that feed on dead/damaged plant tissues...

Thanks for the response Flapdoodle. Does anyone have a positive ID, or any tips to narrow it down? I want to make sure this isn't something that will spread and take out all of my plants. Or if they are just scavengers like spring tails then I am happy to let them be.

I was thinking "bulb" mite not "bud" mite

Thanks again.

Now bulb mites are a different story - your mites are very similar in appearance to some bulb mites; see http://ohiofloriculture.osu.edu/sites/drupal-ohioflori.web/files/file/bulb-mites.pdf for an example. However, as I am not an expert on mites, I hesitate to attempt a positive i.d.

Thanks Flapdoodle. This is the closest thing that I have seen.
Any mite experts on here?
