The day after I planted my Passion flower we received 4 1/2 inches of rain and now it's all wilted. Do I need to dig it up to dry it out?
Wilted Passion flower
Hi.
Passionflower vines are tough cookies. Wilting could be translant shock. I wouldn't do anything to it. It will most likely recover. What kind passionflower is it? Mine do well with a lot of water. It's been raining heavily here every day (30 minutes each time) for the last 3 weeks. Plus, the development's sprinkler waters them, too. I would just leave it alone.
Sylvain.
Agreed on transplant shock in the fall. It will wilt while the roots attempt to get established. If it turns yellow, then you worry about too much water. Otherwise, leave it be a few weeks and let it get its roots stronger.
Thank you for the feedback. I guess I'll wait and see. It is a purple Passion flower.
