I was hoping someone could narrow down what type of wasp this might be - seen in Vancouver, BC a few days ago.

I know so little about insects. From looking at pictures online, is it possibly a paper wasp? Any description of any detail would be great!

This appears to be Polistes dominula, the European paper wasp (an introduced species) - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polistes_dominula
Mr. Flapdoodle - thank you as always! As I keep learning about the natural world around me, I've gotten to a point where I can frequently have some input into discussions about birds and wildflowers (but still have so much to learn). However, insects are an area of knowledge where I may never be able to have anything of substance to give. I keep coming on here asking for help and you always provide it. I really appreciate that.
Minot hey? I spent 30+ years growing up in Regina, Saskatchewan - just a bit NW of you. : )
