Hello I live in a tenement block in Dundee on east coast of Scotland. The spider came out in September a couple weeks ago, and spun a web in the outside plattie. I came across it as it cocooned a wasp caught in its web. I wonder if anyone knows what type of spider it is, cos I don't.

It's the European Garden Spider sometimes called the cross spider because of the white markings on the Cephalothorax. They were imported to the US and now are very common here.
