Lovely photos Ivy, congrats on the lifer. Still no Monarch here, lots of MWs for them ready and waiting. :)

I finally got my 1st Monarch sighting. It was a male I believe, he remained on my Butterfly bush for quite a while, but flew away when I got my camera out. :(

I believe this is 11 saw 12 and 13 today

These little fellas seemed to have done well in the garden. I keep watch on them when I tend to my garden. This morning I discovered 5 big chubby 4th and 5th instars wandering about. Soon there will be chrysalides. I'm so happy for them. New photos will be uploaded soon.

Nice visitors Juhur, hopefully the monarchs are topping off their fuel before heading southward. I saw several last week flying through Western Arkansas and Eastern Oklahoma.

They're here and have gifted my garden with their offspring.

I have seen one here today , (Monarch ) it's wings looked new , it was flying low , and rather erratic , so I am guessing it was an Eclose in the garden ,

Lily ,, I see Caterpillar Babies !!!

Monarch babies yes! Y'all I saw several 5th instars wandering about, I was concerned that they would be lost. So I brought them indoor and keep them in the butterfly nursery. While watching my Monarch caterpillars, I found several of these beetles that eat MW as well. Do you know what they are?

I would presume they are milkweed Beetles , several types of those ,
I have seen them , etc I have them also ,

Awesome Ju! Swamp Milkweed Beetles that what they're. Back to my Monarch, I have the first instar transitions into chrysalis. It's now in its J-form.

Lily-love, all my Black Swallowtail cats are dying after getting about half their growth. Parasitic wasp, disease, or ? I raise them on parsley that I have grown in small pots so no pesticides. But I'm concerned that the city has changed its mosquito spray pesticide that it fogs the neighborhood with every Thursday night which may be contaminating the parsley.

Oh! Ivy, that's sad with the use of chemical. But then again their are Zika virus concerns. We must weight the risks and the benefits. I've more BSTs cats on my home grown parsley as well, but I believe wasps are "stealing" them when I'm not looking! :((

Absolutely stunning picture Juhur. But with all those lovely flowers they should be filled up and ready to head my direction.

Lots and lots Gulf Frits flying about, occasionally some Monarchs ,various skippers.

As of now I have 4 Monarch chrysalides in counting.

I have numerous Monarch 5th instars outdoor as well as in the nursery. Also half a dozen of chrysalides.

Two Monarch butterflies stopped by the garden, plus one eclosed from my own. Surely was a nice day.

Way to go Lilly. I've decided to leave this years crop of Monarch cats on the milkweed. Lots of chubby cats and several have wandered off to eclose. MY big problem has been Milkweed beetles. They are bigger hogs than the cats so I have to pick them by hand then smash. They stink. The cats are eating both tropical and Oscar milkweeds.

Ivy, I too found the MW beetles for the first time. My MW is dwindling down too with their presence. Luckily most of the cats look to be ready to pupate. Currently I have more than a dozen chrysalides in the nursery.

I've saw more butterflies this afternoon, just prior to a drizzly rain than I think I have seen all summer. There must have been at least 7 species and lots were Monarchs. This is the only good pricture I ended up with. There were mostly attracted to my Wetland Garden which is full of zinnias.

I released 1 Monarch tonight, this time it was a male.
