This unassuming tree caught my eye because it was so unassuming. I thought maybe the oppositely arranged branches might narrow down the species. It was on a roadside near a farm here in SE Massachusetts.

If I were from and lived in Asia, I probably would.

Most of the invasive exotic Lonicera sp. are allelopathic, and thus wreak exceptional havoc on landscapes and natural environments - to the detriment of all local flora and fauna.

Gotcha VV. I love the Black Walnut's sphere of death, but they are native. These guys are indeed nasty.

I'm going to write this species down in my records as Bell's Honeysuckle. We have four invasive species in MA and this looks like the best match because it is a hybrid. Japanese HS is a vine more than a tree and Morrow's and Tatarian HS leaves look different.

Anyone object to this? I'd like to get it as right as possible. :)
