Can You ID This Bug?

Republic, PA

Any Entomologists out there that can identify this guy? Flew into my parents car the other day and was swatted away. Any help is appreciated. Thanks a lot.

I suspect it is a fly that has that coloring to imitate a bee for protection. Sure could be wrong, though.

Maybe a hover fly. There are a lot of flies that mimic bees and wasps.

Definitely a robber fly...

Sweet everyone thanks for the replies. I looked further into robber flies and found it was a Red-Footed Cannibalfly!
