Please help us. We have this spider in the garage and afraid the house. Can you please tell me what this is?

Flap doodle-can't thank you enough! My husband thought we had black widows...glad he was wrong. (And yes I know they weren't black-but he convinced me they started out brown.) :) THANK YOU!

You're welcome - and even black widows are not aggressive - you usually have to try to get bitten. I once accidentally stuck a finger in a web occupied by a nice fat female black widow, and she did nothing...
