Hi guys i found this insect in the pool this noon. Is it harmful? I have kids and its swimming season. Thanks

This is a water scorpion, a true bug in he family Neidae. They are predators on other small aquatic life, and can inflict a painful (but not dangerous) 'bite' with their beak if mishandled. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nepa_%28genus%29
