I open my door last night and my white sofa went full with tiny little insects that looked like cockroaches. They all were the same size about 4mm and when I caught them they gave a very nasty smell. are they ordinary cockroaches?
id please
Not a cockroach, but a true bug in the family Cydnidae (burrowing/burrower bugs); see https://www.flickr.com/photos/35142635@N05/8702173067 for another example. Little appears known of their biology, and they are not considered pests. The occurrence of numbers of these indoors appears unusual to say the least...
Thanks for the reply. I am very relieved by the fact they are not cockroaches. It's the fourth time they get insight the house. I don't know if they live in my balcony garden and the lights attract them but I don't think that's the case because that would have happened every summer night. Anyway, it wasn't difficult to collect them one by one because they they weren't hiding, but I wanted to know what exactly they were. Thanks again for the information.
