I ordered some seeds for the Impatiens psittacina or Parrot Flower. I ordered some more and they looked totally different than the first batch I ordered. I am wondering which ones are the correct seeds OR IF neither one are correct. I am reading that these plants or seeds are not supposed to leave Thailand. The seeds came from a company in China. I have emailed the company for clarification today, but want y'alls opinion.
These were bought to be a fund raiser for a parrot rescue origination, but we do not want to sell the seeds if they are not true parrot flower seeds.
Thank You
Cheryl Rose
Impatiens psittacina
Impatiens seeds are small so the new seeds have a better chance of being at least Impatiens.
But, you can't buy Impatiens psittacina and if you could, they would be very expensive and if you did, you wouldn't be able to make them grow.
You might try finding impatiens arguta instead. But don't buy from an out of country seller.

There's probably no way to verify what you got other than by growing them out. Misidentification of seeds is very common (usually starting from misidentification of the plants, when the seed provider is working in good faith... which may not be the case here).
