I'm new to gardening and just planted a bunch of things in late June. Everything seems to be flourishing (or at the very least, not dying) with the exception of these 2 Polemonium boreale (Jacob's ladder). They were slightly taller when I got them, but I cut them down after the first bloom to try to encourage another flowering. Basically they haven't grown at all. I expected the foliage to get more full but it hasn't. They get sun off and on during the day and I water daily. I don't know if they're getting too much/little sun or too much/little water! Thanks for any advice!
Sad Polemonium boreale
Wow, daily water is pretty excessive. Once a week or every 10 days, if it doesn't rain in that time, is more like it.
Ok...I was watering frequently (but not heavily) because I read they like moist soil and that spot dries out quickly, even with mulch. Maybe I'll cut back and see what happens...thanks!
