Found this bug in my daughters bed. It bit her several times....painful enough she jumped up. We live in N. Calif. It's about the size of avg. Ant. Thank you!

Between a damaged specimen and an unclear image, a positive i.d. may not be possible. The shape of the abdomen says Hymenoptera, so one of the many species of 'sweat bee' is a possibility. The sting of these small to tiny bees packs a mighty wallop...
