I am curious to find out what kind of insect this is. I saw it on the 4th of July at Fort Robinson NE. It was quite large, maybe 2 1/2 to 3 inches. It looked as if it has small wings that were maybe damaged (I only saw it walk). TIA!

A moth, possibly a sphinx moth, whose wings did not/have not fully expanded after it emerged from its pupal case.
