Scary looking (most spiders are to most people, eh?) but otherwise harmless wolf spider or grass spider or funnelweb, not any dreadful poisonous kind. Someone else will be more specific

A harmless grass spider (family Agelenidae) in the genus Agelenopsis - see http://www.spiders.us/image/agelenopsis-spp-61/ for an example.
