I created a new forum today for computer discussions, so let's use this forum to help each other with the spam problem that is still unfolding.

phew!!
I was beginning to wonder where the posts went to
great idea as there were an awful lot on the general discussion page.
who dah man?!
You da man!! ;-)
Here is the latest one user28126@mx0.daemon... I made the mistake of thinking it might be a trade. It had no subject. When my screen went white, I quickly did a control alt del and saw all the windows that were kiddie porn trying to open. I just shut down the computer and mailed it to my webmaster to send to authorities. Yes I got horro and support at yahoo too. This is getting old.
None so far today - hopefully it's stopped!
Grits
None for me today...and I've had 'em all. I had my preview window taken off and never open anything that dosen't have a subject that I reconize,so I never got any pictures thank goodness. Getting rid of the preview window will save you from some of those nasty viruses also.
After a day of rest, he's back! Using ADMIN@mxodaemonmail.net. Not giving up. is he? DJM906
I am getting those same e-mails on my yahoo account. The strange thing is that the emails show they have size to them but when I open them there is nothing there, no pictures no text. I wonder why??? I have gotten 15+ e-mails from those 4 accounts and none of them have every had a picture or text in them. But they all appear to be of a fair size.
Ideas?
I got the Admin@mx0daemonmail..... this morning also! Have deleted, blocked, and deleted the cookie also. Another one that I just recently received was user27102 @mx0.daemonmail...
Is anyone noticing that they're being received about the same time on their computers each day? I am.
Dave, question for ya! Is there somewhere that we can post these spam addresses in list form so instead of going thru all the posts they can all be in one spot for people to check and/or add a new one(s)? Is there a way to do that?
I second that. I seem to end with bits and pieces of paper as I try to remember to Block Sender. A daily bulletin thread where we simply list them would be a good idea. And discuss them somewhere else. If we want to. Or not. I feel as if we have 2 plagues at the moment. Foot and mouth in my own country and this.
I got the Admin@mx0.daemon today as well.........simply deleted it.
Blocking these really isn't going to do much good as this jerk is only going to be shut down and turn right around and open another account under another name. About the only thing we can do is turn them into SpamCop and into whatever appropriate ISP (this one is abuse@tierranet.com).(daemon's ISP).
However, having a page for listing the new ones might prevent others on DG from opening them if they've not realized yet that NOTHING should be opened if they do not know who it is from. This guy will more than likely become more creative in the subject line words before long.
Someone should hunt the little s**t down and squash them like the bug they are.
Alan.
Alan, can I help?
HI, again. I've got this sitting in my inbox. Doesn't sound familiar. Clpott@aol.com??????. It seems strange and I'm not sure if I should delete it in case it's a trader. What do you think? Anyone get one of these? Djm906
That's a new one for me...haven't seen it yet.
But if someone can't give you a specific subject such as
Seed trade, Quesrion about XYZ flower..etc. Delete it.
If they email back with a subject that you can relate to,then you might try it.
I never open mail without a subject. And I am wary of anything that is unfamiliar.Sounds cold, but these days you can't be too careful.
Emlyn, be my guest.
Melody, quite right, every mail you get new could have something undesired in it, i am just the same, if i dont know it, i dont read it, not that its a problem at the moment, i am not getting in mail from any other server sites, seems to be problem.
If you are not sure about the contents of a message and you are using Internet Explorer...here's how to check the content without opening the message:
Highlight or select the message in INBOX (do not open it).
Go the the FILE menu and select PROPERTIES.
A popup box has two tabs "General" and "Details".
Click on the Details tab.
At the bottom of the box is a "Message Source" button.
Click on it and another box pops up. You can see the path of the message and any code included in the message.
Looking at the content in this way does not start the code embedded in the message. This is the way I traced the path of the jerks sending out the child porn. Their message includes a java routine that opens up all those windows to porn sites.
Has anyone had one from a Lisa Snyder, titeled, this is very inportant, i havent seen it before.
Alan.
Hello Alan! You're right to be wary just now. But that is very likely to be a safe email. It'll be from justmeLisa of Dave's Garden. Just take your normal precautions. I'm worried about email too in spite of having altered my arrangements in the last week.
NO! NO! ALAN, I am justmeLisa. It is not from me! That is not my email addy!!! (Sorry Northerner) Lisa
A good job I don't use my middle name. Which is Elizabeth. Slight confusion in my Address Book... I've just sent an email to you. Please accept my apologies, Alan.
Diane
