The proboscis almost looks metallic. Is this unusual for any reason?

CLOSED: Shield Bug Id Please - Eastern Shore of MD.
It looks like one of the stink bugs in the genus Euschistus - see http://www.americaninsects.net/ht/euschistus-tristigmus.html for an example. I cannot see the proboscis clearly enough to comment.
The appearance of the proboscis on your specimen does not appear unusual for that genus - see http://entnemdept.ufl.edu/creatures/veg/bean/euschistus_servus03.jpg
Its surface does seem reflective, and moisture might have been involved as well...
