The proboscis almost looks metallic. Is this unusual for any reason?

It looks like one of the stink bugs in the genus Euschistus - see http://www.americaninsects.net/ht/euschistus-tristigmus.html for an example. I cannot see the proboscis clearly enough to comment.

Here's a closeup - maybe the proboscis is just dark colored and has a reflective surface.

Its surface does seem reflective, and moisture might have been involved as well...
