It really baffles me how you folks seem to know all this stuff lol. Is there some trick to researching different insects and figuring it out through google, or is this just an incredible amount of knowledge from years of researching? Seems there's an answer regardless of how weird the insect is.

In my case, I have ID'd this insect more than once before, so I recognized it right off. Flapdoodle, frequent participant on this forum, is an experienced, trained entomologist with an amazing wealth of knowledge.
