searching for RED berried pyracantha varieties

Portland, OR

I am going out of my mind trying to find either
Pyracantha 'Red Column',
Pyracantha 'Watereri' or
Pyracantha 'Coccinea' (Scarlet Firethorn)

I am looking for red berries, NOT orangish red. Does anyone know where I can buy one of these varieties?
I just wasted 3 hours of a beautiful morning, scouring the Internet for one of them, only to find tons of British nurseries that carry them but no U. S.???
I'd be happy, even, for a start or a cutting...
Thanks for any help that you can give,

I know how you feel. I've searched in vain for plants on the internet also. Find out if any of the UK nurseries ship abroad. The are some that do. Ebay might be your best shot.

I think the reason you're finding it difficult locating any is that those types are extremely susceptible to scab, which would basically make your berries ugly and worthless to critters. I have a scab resistant variety 'Mohave' and I still have to fight to keep scab off it in the spring. We put in a hedge row of 30 plants two years ago. They are all 'Mohave' but originally I wanted to alternate yellow and red ones. I was advised not to and took that advice. Good thing too because I can hardly stand taking care of these ones let alone varieties that would require more work.

Thank you, BOTH of you!! : )

Sure thing. If you're really bent on getting the red berried ones, check out Plantlust.com. Sometimes you can find an obscure nursery on there that has something you really want.
