We just got back from a two week trip to Co and spent a few days in the small town of Ouray, which is in the beautiful San Juan Mountains (Hint: if you travel there on Hwy 550, take the northern route from Durango). There are several nice trails around this small town, which we took full advantage of. While there were a large number of dead conifers on the surrounding mountains, which is sadly all too common in CO, White Fir (Abies concolor) is plentiful and quite beautiful in its natural setting.
