It is growing great, but it will not bloom. I have gotten literally 3 flowers off this thing. I bought it from Lowe's in early May and potted it in a big pot. I water it regularly, daily in this Texas heat, and fertilize it with compost tea twice weekly, but to no avail. I did trim off some growth when I first potted it, but it was just a few tips to propagate. The plant was not in bloom when I purchased it. How can I get this thing to bloom, or do I have to wait until next season now?
How do I get my Confederate Jasmine to Bloom?
I have a potted Confederate jasmine which only blooms once a year in spring--about mid-May this year. It flowers pretty heavily at that time and doesn't flower at all the rest of the year, so I'm guessing it's mainly a spring bloomer. Of course, mine has to be a houseplant here in zone 5, which could make a difference.
All leaves and no flowers usually means too much Nitrogen, Im not sure when they usually bloom. Since its in a pot I'm sure you used decent potting soil that doesn't need to be fertilized 2x a week, if at all. You could try applying fertilizer with a high middle # ( phosphorous) which promotes blooms. It might even be a good idea to drench it to get the N out. Also,I doubt it needs daily watering, some plants bloom better when under stress.
