Does anyone know what type of insect this is? My first instinct was some type of stink bug but I really have no idea.
Thanks
Anthony
Orange and black insect in south florida
This is Spartocera fusca, a leaf-footed bug (family Coreidae). Although sometimes called a squash bug, it actually appears to favor feeding on plants in the nightshade family (which includes tomatoes, potatoes, peppers, eggplants, etc.)
