This is a photo from last year, but never got it ID'ed. I just saw the Pigweed Leaf Beetle on the Fun Random Bug and wonder if this is what I have. If this is what it is, I could use more of these around with all the weed Amaranth I have.

This is in the same genus (Disonycha ) as the pigweed leaf beetle, but it looks more like Disonycha pensylvanica to me - see http://www.americaninsects.net/b/disonycha-pensylvanica.html
I got a little closer that time. :) Thank you. It can have at all the Smartweed it wants. Besides thriving more than I'd like, it gives me a rash that spreads up my arms over several days.
I just got to do something new... create a page for this insect. I could not find it with the common name, or the scientific name. I hope I did it correctly.
