I planted my American beautyberry last year. This spring it has looked terrific. Now one branch at a time is dying while the others are still green. What would cause that?

Do you have any pictures of the plant and infected stems that you can post?
I wonder, are they dying from the bottom out? Is there any evidence of injury or insect damage at the point they start turning color and dying?
