CLOSED: There is someone on here that is not a paying member

Baytown, TX(Zone 9b)

I am sorry this thread has caused hurt feelings. It was to tell others about 1 member and to be careful. It also helped some to vent and some to help Igrowinpa to not give up on daylilies and it worked out. I am sorry iowhen that life got in the way. I totally understand that as I have had that happen more than once. I felt bad when it did and I know of a couple times (my own experience) I was too embarrassed to tell the other person but things worked out.

Broken arm...I have never had a broken bone but I do have severe arthritis in my right thumb and corporal tunnel in the same arm. I can use mine but I can not imagine not using my arm. My neighbor fell got a big dog and it made her fall and she tore the ligaments in hers. I try to do things for her as I know it has to be hard.

I hope both can get over this as I have royally messed up and but in the end forgiven when I finally sent my end.

I was about to leave negative feedback to carenjean but I find she is no longer a member. After sending a nice box of irises, she then asked for another box. No further communication.

I'm so sorry to hear that mittsy. She was one of the people mentioned in my initial post above - I sent the box for postage BEFORE I received that check for postage costs. Had to ask for payment. Told me she had sent it already and would send again. Then a few days later, told me that she had found it in her husband's truck - had not been sent. I did eventually get it. The funny thing is, she did not date the check.

She must have seen my post here because she contacted me by D-mail and said that after all, she had apologized and had at last sent the check. An apology is nice, but it's not nice to not pay for postage costs right away when someone is kind enough to send you free plants, even before you have their payment in hand.

D-mail me privately, mittsy, and let me know if you are a member of other gardening sites. I am, and I've seen her post on one other popular one, asking for plants for postage. I can leave negative feedback there for me and you. I have not done so as yet, but I probably should have before she disappears from there too.

I've learned my lesson and will no longer mail plants before I get the check. I have met so many wonderful traders and swappers on here that I really hate to not trust, but I can't afford to ship plants for free and then pay the postage too.

Sondra and others on this thread: I have known you and traded with you for years. I think even (or especially now) with diminished participation it's important to vet new members. I will still ask for trade partners to post feedback, and I do the same. If you have an established base of people who can vouch for your integrity it should be no sweat off your back.

I have reported frauds in the past and admin has banned people from the site. No doubt it's easy enough to create a new email address and show your face again and again.

Help keep us honest and post feedback on member pages.

Thanks for all the good you do.

True! I was very sad when I had to downsize from 4br to 2br house and leave my 1/4 acre wildflower garden behind (LL was none too pleased and note that he tilled it under after I moved). Sigh.

In any event, I brought as much as possible with me, including many plants and shrubs from my friends here which mean so much. I started the old garden in 2009, and many successful trades of plants and seeds made it what it was.

This year, during peak migration I saw 3-5 monarchs a day. I have been perplexed by mortality among caterpillar larvae, but also raised and released 20+ to send on to Mexico.

I have some wants and not as many haves to start planning next year's expanded garden. I am about to post in the trade forum.

I do hope everyone has enjoyed the season and will continue to rely on longtime respected trading partners to help their gardens grow.

Thanks for all you do.

I am seeing 3 to 5 monarchs a day, gardens in town are seeing more. I restarted fgardens after a divorce. Still getting a few species back.

So, it's been over a year that this issue was exposed.
Have you both buried the hatchet? Igrowinpa did apologize.
Are you guys still on this website?

I have done some trades and have never asked for postage in advance. How am I going to know how much it costs until I take it to the PO??? I have only gotten burned once, and that was from a very active poster on DG..............I don't know if he is a member any more, but i certainly never expected it of HIM to stick me. I let it go..........it wasn't worth any angst it would have cost me. :>)
