So Is It safe to assume that this is an assassin bug (aka kissing bug)?
My luck just keeps getting better. Just lost my house in a fire and had to stay at a Comfort Inn for 3 weeks and had these little suckers sharing the room with me.

Caught the assassin bug on my bed next to me as it was crawling towards me at the place I'm staying at now. How the heck did that bug get into the apartment? There's only one window that never gets opened.

This is indeed an assassin bug, it appears to be one known as the masked hunter (Reduvius personatus). This is a peridomestic species that often is found indoors; see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reduvius_personatus for more detailed information.
