Found this not so little guy or gal floating in my swimming pool. Never seen one like it here before. I live in Cincinnati, zone 6, with a lot of mature trees in the yard. I usually spend my time picking pine cones or acorns and various bees out of the swimming pool.

It's a long-horned wood-boring beetle (family Cerambycidae); likely a brown prionid - http://www.americaninsects.net/b/orthosoma-brunneum.html
