I'm working in NW Michigan for the summer so not sure what insects are indigenous to this area. This spider showed up in the sink after my roommate got here from Arizona. Anyone know what kind of spider this is and where it is normally found?
PS. Forgot to add that I got the spider out of the sink and into a plastic quart container. Wasn't sticking my fingers in there to add a coin or something else for size comparison! I'd guess it's about 1-1/2" - 2" across.

What kind of spider?
Looks like a fishing spider in the genus Dolomedes; harmless to humans...
