Hey, all!
So, I have a Smooth-Sided Toad, named Winston. Today my Wife and I were cleaning out his tank, when she discovered a few (2-4) big red bugs. We have no idea what they are. Curiously enough, his tank has a lid on it at all times. It's never off for more than a few seconds to take him/put him in, or to change his bedding. The lid is a really tiny mesh, and there is no way these babies could have crawled in there.
We got his dirt, and moss, from Pet Smart.
My questions are:
1. What the heck is this thing?
2. Could it have come from the dirt/moss?
3. Can they harm my Toad?
Obviously we completely changed his bedding, sanitized everything, and checked the rest of the dirt in the bag for bugs. (found none.)
Thanks for any help on this!
It doesn't show it well in the first picture, but it was vibrantly red. Completely red.

Any help? D=
Working on it as time permits - this is another frustrating one for me; it looks vaguely familiar, yet I cannot place a name on it... :-(
