These Things Are All Over the Siding and Windowsills!

Landing, NJ

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know what these tiny bugs are?? They come out this time of year (typically don't see them after the frost-I am in Northwestern New Jersey) and are all over the outside siding of my house and even inside on the windowsills YUCK. I've tried bleach, commercial sprays, Blue Dawn, etc...Any ideas as to what they are/how to get rid of them much appreciated!! Please note: the photos are blown up x4; these things are very small...you might not even see them unless you're looking for them. They look like tiny plankton with antennas.

Thank you so much

These appear to be springtails. Ones like these are harmless scavengers, but they may become nuisance pests when they occur in large numbers.

Thank you, Flapdoodle. After some more research, I think you are probably right. I have a lot of indoor plants and I also water my garden quite a bit, so I think I've created a moist haven for them!! Thank you so much-I never would have known they were springtails.
