CLOSED: Help! What kind of roaches are these?

Las Vegas, NV

Hi,
Last night we found one of these dying on our bathroom counter except it was mostly white/cream colored; and this morning we found this and one more in our glue trap behind our sink faucet. We live in an apartment in Las Vegas, and in our area Oriental, American and German roaches are common. Can you please help identify what kind this is? It's maybe about a quarter of an inch long, or slightly less.

Definitely not German cockroaches - might be in the genus Periplaneta (American & Australian cockroaches) - see http://entnemdept.ufl.edu/creatures/urban/roaches/american_cockroach01.JPG for an example.

Thank you for your response. I was thinking they may be Oriental roaches when I first saw them. How are you certain they are not German roaches aside from the obvious lack of markings on the head? They do look quite similar from your picture but I'm still not sure. I'd like to hear from anyone else who's seen similar.

Thank you again so much, your post alone was a small relief.
