Saw this at a park garden in Lexington, Kentucky.
CLOSED: Please identify this butterfly/moth?
Either a Clouded Sulphur, Colias philodice, or Orange Sulphur, Colias eurytheme. They are very similar when observed with their wings closed. When Flapdoodle comes along he can probably tell you which species, and sex besides. I'm guessing male in either case.
IMHO, most likely a male clouded sulfur - http://www.cirrusimage.com/butterfly_csulphur.htm
Thank you! From my Google image searches, that's what I had already been leaning toward.
