Plants for keeping bees and mosquitoes away

I have gotten stung without just cause, lol and mosquitoes seem to love my blood are there any plants to keep them at bay.

Bees don't usually sting unless feeling threatened. But flowers will attract them and you may accidentally cause them to fear for their lives.You might use colorful leafed plants instead of flowers, to have color that won't attract bees.

Lemon grass is said to keep mosquitoe away. So is a certain pelargonium (scented geranium). These things need to be near where you want to sit or spend time, they won't keep mosquitoes out of a large area.

Where I was at the time of being stung there were no flowers or plants, Only brick yard stones where our chairs are placed. Although there are a few small holes in the stones can there be a nest below them.?

Yes there are "ground bees" that will nest in the ground. If you sit quietly near the hole you will see them going in and out, during the day.

ground bees are docile, ground wasps like yellow jackets can be quite aggressive. But I guess if you got stung while doing what you normally do in that area, it doesn't matter if they are 'typically' docile or aggressive. I understand not being able to tolerate them in that area.

The differences in bees and wasps! Mosquitos dont like basil but the bees adore it.
