CLOSED: Wanting to ID this guy and see if it's a threat.

La Vernia, TX

Found these crawling around on a cedar elm that the wind blew over. The tree was about 18-20 inch diameter. Only about a 2"x10" edge of one side of the trunk showed to be alive the rest was dead wood. Although the whole top was green with fresh leaf growth. Curious if this Bug can kill my trees or if it's just after the dead wood.

This is a flower longhorn beetle. it looks like Stenelytrana emarginata - see http://www.americaninsects.net/b/stenelytrana-emarginata.html for an image. The larvae of this species feeds in rotting wood, and so id no threat to your tree(s).
