Been finding a few of these around the apartment. Curious if anyone can shed light.

Attached picture is next to a human hair for scale.

Is this a top or bottom view? If it's a bottom view, looks like a small beetle of some type. Please see if you can provide a clearer image...

It's a top view, looking down on a counter w/ zoom.

Still have the thing in a ziploc, would a bottom view / better zoom help?

Just want to ensure it's not anything that I should have an exterminator in over (eg, bed bug / carpet beetle or some such).

The photo should be taken outside of any container, as even clear plastic can distort features useful in identification. That aside, the shape and its antennae are somewhat like those of a black carpet beetle, but an exterminator usually is not necessary unless an infestation is very heavy - see http://ento.psu.edu/extension/factsheets/black-carpet-beetle
