I live in Massachusetts area, zone 6. I am growing butterfly weed - sunset flower plant from seed.
About week ago, I moved the sapling into the garden. Few of them have their started to turn white. Attached is the picture with all old leaves in white color whereas couple of new leaves in green color.
Can anyone please help me figure out what could be wrong? Thanks!

Where was the seedling before you moved it to the garden?
It looks like a sunburn or perhaps a fertilizer burn, was it sprayed with anything, hot hose water perhaps?
I was thinking sunburn too. It will be interesting to hear from the OP where the seedling was before being planted out in the garden.
Sunburn or overspray from retardants like weed killer,
