Every year my hostas get like this. It happens overnight it seems because I check them out every day. Is it a bug or a fungus?
Hosta dilemma every year
It looks like Black Spot which is a fungus that can attack all kinds of plants. Although there are different types of remedies, I came across this interesting link with a very simple solution using milk mixed with water. They say it must be cow's milk, but the fat content doesn't matter, so non-fat would work as well as whole fat.
I wish I had seen it before because I could have used it myself on other plants.

BTW - they also say it's a great deer repellent so I'm going to try it. I have really good luck with Liquid Fence, but what could be simpler than milk & water?
