These bugs just randomly showed up in my house. they come out around sundown. they swarm the light in my bathroom.I've never seen them before nor were there any in my house. but we have found them in the bathtub in the sink on the floor but they all seem to be located in one room. They are also very small.
These are beetles in the family Staphylinidae, commonly called rove beetles. The vast majority of these are general predators on other small arthropods.
