CLOSED: Insect Id

Sanderson, FL

I found these little yellow things on a Butterfly weed Asclepias Curassavica yesterday and wanted to see if anyone could help me identify them.

Thanks Chenoa

They look like eggs from some bug or caterpillar...

These are aphids, aka 'plant lice.' They may be washed off plants with a strong stream of water from a garden hose, or sprayed with an insecticidal soap.

They look like Oleander aphids and they can decimate Milkweed of any species. They did in my Swamp Milkweed. If you have these plants for Monarch caterpillars, I would just wash them off or smash by hand. I double checked about the soap and it can harm the caterpillars already on the plants.
