Beneficial Nematodes - reliable source needed!

Potomac, MD

Does anyone know of a reliable source to purchase beneficial nematodes for my garden? There are numerous sites online with varying information as to the amount necessary, the freshness of their product and which of the nematodes eat which bugs. If anyone has experience with any of the companies out there I would love to hear about their experiences - good and/or bad! Thanks

They are awesome, need rainy weather or die back- bugs to eat or they die back, usually takes a couple of years to start being noticeably effective, and you must refrain from insecticides. I do not use them, but when you buy, the faster they are put out the better- or the effort is wasted. Good luck

I got my nematodes from Amazon last year. http://www.amazon.com/Pyes-Scanmask-Million-Beneficial-Nematodes/dp/B000MRD5JO?ie=UTF8&keywords=nematodes&qid=1465484790&ref_=sr_1_1&s=lawn-garden&sr=1-1

Of course, I use Amazon from everything from Essential Oils to brake pads. But they are an excellent resource. I also ordered lady bugs from them...

I am fortunate to have a number of local nurseries that sell ben nems. If you haven't found a source yet I can make a few phone calls. Kitt is right in that they need to be fresh. They are kept in coolers at the nurseries and the instructions say they must be used within 2 weeks. Must keep in fridge or cooler if not used the day you get them. Kitt is the 1st person to say that it may take several years to notice the effectiveness. (Not doubting you Kitt. Just hadn't heard that.) Will see if there's a good mail order source. Would worry a little about delivery time & temp.
Are there any locally owned nurseries / garden centers in your area? Maybe try calling some.
