Beetle identification

I have something eating the leaves of my Butterfly Bush leaves and beyond Lady Bugs this is the only bug I can see in any numbers. They are smaller than the lady bugs.

This is a weevil of some kind, but it does not look like anything that would cause serious leaf damage. Try going out at night and see if you see anything like this, especially on the undersides of leaves: http://s35.photobucket.com/user/jfaulconer/media/220A1514.jpg.html
If so, you have an earwig problem...

Looks like earwigs, I hate to kill them, they do a good job of breaking up decomposing matter? I have a pile of decomposing matter in a corner of my yard that is about 50-75 feet from my garden, if I were to create an earwig trap and relocate them do you think they will stay in that area?

Also, I have another area of plants that has 3+ inches of mulch, the plants have very little damage but I can for sure see damage, if I increase the mulch in this area will the concentrate on the mulch and not the plants?

Earwigs are quite mobile, so I am unsure how well they would 'stay put' if relocated. And adding mulch might actually exacerbate the problem, as these insects like a moist environment, and this might serve to increase their numbers. See http://www.rodalesorganiclife.com/garden/how-control-earwigs and http://www.ipm.ucdavis.edu/PMG/PESTNOTES/pn74102.html for some control suggestions.
