Ceiling is made of wood and they are in between the pieces of wood
What is this? Outdoors, back porch, on the ceiling
This appears to be a ground beetle (family Carabidae), but I would like a clearer view of its antennae and tarsi to be certain. Most ground beetles are general predators on other small arthropods.
