Help! My Hollyhocks are shrinking.

For the past 6 or 7 years we have had a wonderful display of high, flowering hollyhocks. However in the past 2 to 3 years they have been shrinking. Even the ones that have self seeded don't really come to much.

Any ideas how we can remedy this?

Feeding?
More Watering?
