Butterfly with FOUR wings?!?

Basye, VA(Zone 6a)

I just saw this on one of my black & blue salvia plants. I can't recall ever seeing a butterfly with so many wings before! I looked through the "skipper" butterfly pictures here, but I didn't see anything exactly like it. Any idea what it is, or why it needs so many wings?!

Apparently, skippers have four wings just like other butterflies. Their resting position is different at times.

This is one of the grass skippers in the subfamily Hesperiinae. There are several species having very similar wing markings; I am hesitant to offer a specific i.d. at this time.
