CLOSED: cockroach???

I found this in our kitchen. Before I killed it, it was flat and long. Is it a cockroach? We have exterminators coming just in case!

Thanks Flapdoodle! Does it look like a wood cockroach or one of the indoor ones? We have some people coming to spray tomorrow, so I hope this is the last we see of them! I cleaned the cabinets and everything top to bottom and didn't spot anymore, so hopefully we got it before it gets out of control!

Hard to identify specifically from this image; if it was less than 1.5" long and relatively slender, chances are it was a wood cockroach (see http://nathistoc.bio.uci.edu/orthopt/Parcoblatta%20americana/1.jpg); if it was larger and more broad-shouldered, it might have been a sp. Hi again, Flapdoodle! Thank you so much for your help! We had the exterminator come and look at it today, and he identified it as a Pennsylvania Wood Cockroach and said not to worry. He did spray around in a few key places just in case, but I am so relieved that it wasn't a German Cockroach! I am thinking that the wood cockroach and one other I saw may have came in from a few holes that I need to patch up or from the person down the street who keeps getting truckloads of mulch delivered. I'm just so relieved and thank you for all your help!
