Can someone tell me what type of moth this is?

Hello All,

Over the past few weeks we have been finding these type of moths in the house. I have no idea what type of moth they are but I want to get rid of em. I know these are semi close shot but it is a bigger moth also, it is not tiny by any sorts. They are all found in the kitchen though. One was dead by the side of the fridge.

Thank you all!

These appear to be in the family Noctuidae (owlet moths) of the type often referred to (including on our farm) as 'moth millers.' Larvae of these moths includes cutworms and armyworms, but the moths themselves are harmless nuisance pests. They reaily are attracted to artificial lights at night, andmay gain entrance to buildings at that time.

Hello Flap,

Thank you so much for this! I actually found a smaller moth - similar color. I smashed it pretty well. I will upload the pictures, not sure if its identifiable or part of this family. I thought they may be meal moths so I started to clean the pantry and just toss everything heh.

thank you so much!

Not sure what the smaller moth is, but definitely not an Indianmeal moth...
