Trimming Rose Glow Barberry

I have barberry bushes in front of my house. The 2 closest to a window AC have some really tall branches. Is it too late to trim at the end of May?

Barberry can be trimmed anytime pretty much since they don't bloom. I trim my just whenever it needs it and it just keeps plowing along. :~)
